We enjoyed our time out in the sun. Some of our residents played volleyball, while others enjoyed the warm sun with a cool drink in their hands. We listened to Surfing Music and some even dipped their toes in the water. Special thanks to Winnie, Carolyn and Margaret for making the day wonderful.
News & Updates
Recently, several of our managers hosted a day at the carnival. We played lots of games, such as corn hole and Pictionary while we enjoyed popcorn and snow cones. It was a fun way to relax and enjoy each other’s company for our residents and stakeholders. Thank you Marc, Amber and Beverly.
We recently took a trip to the Louisville Waterfront with 5 amazing residents. It was a beautiful day to enjoy the sun. We had a picnic lunch by the Ohio River as we watched several barges and the Belle of Louisville go by. Right next to us was the waterplay area. We could not resist getting wet as we felt like kids again. Also, we were able to use this time as a remembrance for one special resident. She asked if she could remember her late husband by tossing his Army dog tags in to the river. She told us that it was a special moment for her.
To celebrate National Nursing Home Week, we took a trip to visit different places around the world. We started our adventure in Paris, then off to Tokyo, Australia, Mexico and came home to the USA. We had a great time sampling various foods from the places and learning about their culture.
SHC of East Louisville recently partnered with Mercy Academy of Louisville, KY to spend time with our amazing Elders. The students were fun, energetic and completely awesome! Thank you so much for giving your time to spend with our Elders.
We celebrated April Fool’s Day today. The Elders put Post-It Notes all over the office of our Admissions Director, Beverly. She will be “pleasantly” surprised when she comes to work tomorrow!
On March 13, our Elders celebrated Alien Abduction Day by creating devices to communicate with each other and watched movies about aliens while we ate popcorn. We had a great time.
Signature HealthCARE is proud to be honored as one of Modern Healthcare’s ‘Best Places to Work’ for the third time.
The annual awards program recognizes outstanding employers in the healthcare industry at varying levels of care. Of thousands of healthcare companies and organizations nationwide, only 100 make the Modern Healthcare list each year.
Five Signature HealthCARE centers recently visited the Kentucky State Fair. SHC of East Louisville, South Louisville, Cherokee Park, Trimble County and Spencer County all attended – about 50 residents and staff members in total. We had a great time, ate good food and saw the most amazing exhibits of quilts and cakes.
We all met up in the South wing at the Food Court for lunch and took the group pictures there. Our Elders were very excited about eating the ‘bad’ food, like hot dogs, steak sandwiches and cotton candy. We spent a lot of time looking at the handmade items – especially the quilts. We saw a few cows and sheep, and tasted samples of the country ham and sorghum.
The group had a great day. I was very happy to see our SHC facilities come together for such a great time.
